Leavin on a jet plane....

Unfortunately he fit, so we couldn't check him and had to carry him on instead :) But Ryan did great on the flight to and from Massachusetts this past weekend. I didn't get as many pictures of him with my family as I had hoped but here are pictures of him with his Nana and Uncle Jim. Ryan got very attached to Nana during his stay. when he woke up each morning, he yelled "Mama! Dada! Nana!"
Ryan and Uncle Jim
Nana always gives Ryan snacks!
We also got a chance to see my best friend Shelley, her husband John and their baby Cecila, who is 4 months old. Cecilia is the cutest baby and is so happy and mellow! I wasn't sure how Ryan would react to a baby, and to Mommy holding a baby but he really took a liking to Cecelia. It's a good thing because she is his future wife :) He loved holding her hand and "helping" wipe her face with the burp cloth.
The only time he got upset was when I held Cecelia on my shoulder and he couldn't see her face anymore.

So I turned her back around to face him and he was happy again... Before Cecilia left, they posed for some pictures. These will be perfect for the slideshow at their rehearsal dinner!

We were so happy to spend so much quality time with my family and friends during this visit. Ryan is turning into an experienced traveler already and we're so proud of how adaptable he has been during all of our visits - eating and sleeping just as he does at home. (So for those of you who know him, that means sleeping great and not eating great!). With all of our family living so far away, we see many more trips in his future!
I debated blogging about this but this blog is supposed to be about my life and that means not smoothing over the rough times. Unfortunately, while we were visiting, my grandfather, who lives with my parents, suffered a rather serious heart attack. The doctors were able to completely clear the blockage in his artery, although there was some damage done to the heart muscle itself. He is recovering in the hospital now and we can only wait and see how the recovey will be. I was actually glad I was is in town when it happened, so I was able to be with my mom at the hospital during this time and provide some support and comfort (I hope!) He is doing ok so far, and we hope he will be back home soon. Please keep him and my entire family in your prayers, as it is a tough time for everyone.
