This weekend we are sad to see some of our closest friends move out of our neighborhood. Mike, Amanda and their dog Brody have been our friends since 2004, and our neighbors since we bought our house in 2005. They are the friends that live in closest proximity to us, we only live about 2 blocks away from each other. We were friends before we were neighbors, but living so close only strengthened our friendship. We have shared so many memories together - birthdays, parties, New Years Eve's, happy hours, dinners at each others houses, their engagement and then wedding in June 2007, the birth of our son Ryan in October 2007 and many many other fun times! There were plenty of short visits back and forth to each others houses, and then there were the longer visits (12+ hours on New Years Day 2006!). They have babysat for us and we have dog sat for them. We have helped each other out on so many occasions. They will only be moving about 30 minutes away, but it will certainly not be the same without them a mere 2 minutes away. Not to mention, who will get our mail when we go out of town? This is the first of what will become a mass exodus of our friends to the suburbs as they move to more settled neighborhoods with driveways, garages and yards, things that are unheard of to us city folk! They are the first to go, and I am having a hard time with it. So tonight, for the last time, they will walk over to our house. We will eat dinner and drink wine. Amanda will curl up with a blanket and fall asleep on the couch, Mike and Tim will watch repeats of the Family Guy, and it will be just like old times. Mike, Amanda and Brody - We will miss you!! We know our friendship will not change with the additional miles between us. You always have a place to stay when you come back to the city and we are looking forward to visiting you in your new home. We love you guys and cherish the memories we have made with you....
