New Bike

Ryan's Grandma and Papa Doody bought him a tricycle for Christmas that we can push him around on until he is big enough to pedal. He loves riding around the house on it and we can't wait for the weather to get warm so we can use it outside!

We surprised Ryan with a new toy today when he woke up from his nap (thanks to a great deal on Craig's List!) and he started cooking right away. Bacon anyone?

Happy Birthday Rachel!

Today we celebrated Rachel's 11th birthday and also exchanged Christmas gifts with Ryan's cousins, since we didn't get to see them last month. It was a great day - even though Ryan was sick, he loved playing with his cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents.

Tonight we visited Ryan's cousins Colin, Alec and Lizzie and Aunt Lynn and Uncle DJ. Ryan had a blast wrestling with them and playing in their playroom.

Auntie Vi's cupcakes

Today cousin Diana came over to hang out with us and have dinner. As a special treat, she made Auntie Vi's cupcake recipe egg-free so Ryan could try them. Seeing them brought back many fun memories of birthdays when we were kids. Auntie Vi never failed to make the cupcakes, bringing them in cardboard Miller 6-packs! We miss Auntie Vi, but it is fun to continue with her traditions and pass them down to the next generations. Thanks Diana for bringing such a thoughtful treat! Ryan got his first taste of cake and we got our first taste of Ryan on a sugar high later this afternoon!
