Family Beach Day

At the end of our week in Massachusetts, we visited Aunt Sue, Uncle John, Taylor and Krista at the beach cottage they had rented for two weeks. Several other family members were there too so we were able to catch up with a lot of people at once. I think Ryan has a soft spot for cousin Sean though - he played with Ryan for a LONG time in the ocean, pushing around an inflatable tube. Thanks to Sean for entertaining my little guy! We also saw Uncle John and my Dad on the beach for the longest period of time in recent years - although John still wore his white socks on the beach - Classic! The weather was absolutely perfect, and we stayed on the beach for several hoours. And no trip to the beach is comnplete with a beach dinner on the way home, so we stopped at Markey's for some fried seafood. So unhealthy but SO yummy and well worth it :) Thanks Aunt Sue for inviting us to spend the day and for the hospitality - we had a great time!

Union Reunion - Jr. version

Today Ryan and I met up with some of my Union friends to catch up and so the kids could play - 4 adults and 9 kids ranging from age 1 to age 6 (almost 7) make for an interesting morning/afternoon! The kids had a great time, and it was fun catching up with Emily, Lesley and Stephanie - Thanks to Em for hosting us and all the craziness!

First Trip to Fenway

Tonight Ryan was a lucky boy, as his Nana and Grandpa treated us to a trip to Fenway for Ryan's first Red Sox game!! We had a great time - stayed through 5 innings and Ryan enjoyed cheering for Big Papi and Tim Wakefield, but especially enjoying drinking lemonade, eating Italian ice, popcorn and looking for Wally the Green Monster, shouting excitedly "There's Wally!" every time he spotted him, and asking "Where did Wally go" whenever he couldn't find him. He also asked me at one point when we were going to go on the field! If only we could be so lucky! All in all, Ryan's first trip to Fenway was a success. Thanks Nana and Grandpa D'Agostino!

Happy 4th of July!

Another great 4th of July Party at the Doody's! This year saw the return of the Scavenger Hunt - 6 teams were given a list of items to photograph around Delmar, and one hour to complete the mission. The item on the list that everyone always wants to get is the picture of my father in law Bob's red convertible, which he hides somewhere in town. I am happy to say our team managed to snap pictures of every item on our list, however we didn't win :( Better luck next year!! It was fun to have the scavenger hunt part of the festivities again, as we had not done it in several years. The family sure has come a long way though - starting with Polaroid cameras for the 1st scavenger hunt in 1999, moving to digital cameras, and this year moving on to use all iphones and ipods to capture the photographs! The rest of the party was fun and even though clouds threatened rain all afternoon, it never did rain and we were able to spend most of the day outside - The party ended with another new addition - The Wii and "Just Dance." It was a great day and night. Happy Birthday America!
