The magic of Christmas

With all the talk of Santa and presents that surrounds Christmas, I am trying to teach Ryan that the holiday is also about giving and sharing and being with family and people we love. I have even explained that, outside of Santa's gifts, it is a time for us to buy gifts for each other and those around us to show how much we love and appreciate them - family, friends, teachers, the mailman, etc. I'm just not sure he quite gets it. Last night, I asked him what we should buy Daddy for Christmas and what he thinks Daddy might want. And his response: "I don't know. We will have to see what Santa brings him!"
